an evening’s work

I made a couple of things tonight.  First, this earbud case for Kate – the inside is bright red.  She had already filled it, so it is bumpy…

And then a case for Rachel’s new computer.  The outside is heavy wool and pretty traditional, but those cats decided to play when she opens up the case…  Hope it keeps the machine safe and sound, too.

Dream City

December 2016

A couple of Christmas presents I just finished.  The first is for Dan to hang up at work.  The  boats are for Dad.  Each is about 8″ x 12″ with rings for hanging on the back.  Big quilts sitting upstairs that need to be sandwiched then quilted; a little distraction seemed to be in order…  ;-]

For Gabe and Tiffany Burak – July 2, 2016

Gabe, who lived across the street from us for 20 years, is getting married next month.  He is a wonderful man – gentle, strong, straight-as-an-arrow, and we hope he and Tiffany will be happy for years to come!

Wedding Quilt for Hannah and Stephen

Hannah said she likes dark solids, so I chose these chambrays and solids in blues and purples, then added some Lotta Landsdotter prints to lighten it all up.  The back is french shirting fabric and double gauze.  The wonky crosses were echoed in the quilting, which is a giant wonky cross centered then quilted out to the corners.
