Trying some weaving on the rigid heddle loom, which is fun. I need to figure out a system to get it at the right height – a $150 stand seems excessive! These are mix of raffia and cotton bias tape. I’m slowly getting better…
Some clothes for Rachel
So when R was home in January, she mentioned she’d like some new things for work. I’d already made this jacket/vest from fabric she brought home from India:
But I got to work and made a few more things that will go out in the mail tomorrow:
These two out of hand-dyed indigo I played with on a snowy day in the fall…
this one – which doesn’t show up well at all – is a silky cotton voile with wild and weird curvy darts at the bodice…
this skirt from a swingy rayon…
and this sleeveless top from a rayon voile.
Here’s hoping they look good on her!
For a winter wedding – an Advent calendar
It was fun to just make up the Advent calendar as I went along with bits and pieces of seasonal fabric. Embroidery was shiny gold floss and it all ended up on heavy cream wool.
For the babies – Malachi, Daniel, and Hadley
For Denny and Diane’s wedding…
Because everyone needs a few flowers that last after they elope! Congratulations!
For Sarah and Nick, before their first anniversary…
A Birthday Quilt for Lincoln
Quilt 3
Quilt 2
Quilt top 2… Improv which is a pretty good way to use up a lot of scraps from other quilts that are sitting in a box on the floor. And now I’ll know to match up the cross strips even though “scrappy” is valued.
Then it was really late and I had some extra fabric on the table so made a little piece – 15″ x 20″ more or less… I like it better!
Quilt 1
Made a quilt for a class I am taking online. The assignment was straight lines with complementary colors. I found I am not a fan of those color pairings, but the quilt will work for a baby or for the spring. It is called “Spring has Sprung” and is about 36″ x 45″.
