I haven’t made something with a self-fringe before. It was a bit scary to unravel 4 rows and hope the rest stayed- and it did!

I even added a scarf pin to keep it in place…

For Dad’s birthday, I collected outlines of hands from Dory, kids, kids’ spouses, grandkids, and kids’ and grand kids’ significant others. After machine stitching the hands, I added stitched names and put them into a grid with “bow-ties” in the corners.  The backing is a lightweight chambray and the whole thing is quilted between the blocks and around the triangles.  I have developed more dexterity with the presser foot and speed control, and had lots of time to listen to ebooks and music!
